Craftsmen often mean “sweat, stubbornness, slowness, and low volume”, but the hidden behind lies “focus, skill, perfection, quality”. They use their agile fingers to create beauty between the movements and static objects; they are an ordinary life behind their hands. Mr. Li Haiming is such a craftsman.

In Li Haiming’s studio, the reporter learned from the “Eighty-seven-story cloisonne enamel murals” with more than 2,500 meters of fine silk-like gold silk. The whole piece consists of 5 pieces of about 1.2 meters long and 60 centimeters high which are spliced together. The work is based on the Tang Dynasty Wu Daozi’s hand-drawn scroll, “The Eighty-Seven Immortals”, which tells an ancient Chinese traditional myth. Li Haiming chose the best piece of paintings in the “Eighteen Seventeen Immortals” to create silkworms. The gods in the paintings held various instruments and were in the form of a band. Each fairy’s hair and headwear were different, refined but not fussy, delicate lines of sleeves and skirts were delicate.[photo by Chinanews.com]
