Gaolan County

Gaolan County belongs to Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in central Gansu, and in the upper reaches of the Yellow River. The east of it is Baiyin City Baiyin District and Lanzhou City Yuzhong County, the south of it is Lanzhou City Chengguan District and Anning District, the west of it is Yongdeng County and Xigu District, the north of it is Baiyin City Jingtai County.

Gaolan County includes 4 towns, 3 townships, 71 administrative villages and 3 communities. The total area is 2476 square kilometres and the total population is 180,841, of which the non-agricultural population is 30081 (2010).

Gaolan County has Dongguo pear, Ruaner pear, Bailan melon, Red Sand potato, Black Melon Seed and other specialties. Tourist attractions are Shichuan Town Ancient Pear Garden, Shidong Temple, Lingfeng Temple and so on.

Gaolan County is the hometown of Taiping Drum, named "Chinese Folk Art County" by the National Culture Ministry . In 2014, Gaolan County Shichuan Town win the title "The World's first ancient pear garden" and "China's cultural tourist town influential the world." On September 25, 2018, win the honorary title of the National Commerce Ministry "2018 e-commerce into the rural comprehensive demonstration county."
