Community “the Elderly and Children’s House” to Help Community Management Co-construction

  On June 1, the elderly and Children’s House in Muta Lane community, Linxia street, Chengguan District was officially launched and will provide various public welfare services such as reading and health care for children and the elderly in the community.

  The elderly and Children’s House in Muta Lane community, located in the community building, covers an area of about 100 square meters. Based on the actual needs of the elderly and children in the community, it mainly provides four project services, enjoying the elderly, benefiting the children by learning, enjoying the books, and enjoying the youth training for health. To build a neighborhood space for mutual assistance and resource sharing, the social volunteer team of Lanzhou Lekang youth social service center was regularly invited to provide professional services such as reading, culture, art, and health care for the elderly and children in the community. The volunteers of the team accompanied the elderly to enjoy their old age and help the children grow in good health. According to Kang min of the volunteer team of social workers, children’s theme activities are held once a week in the community by the elderly and Children's House, with about 30 participants. At the same time, according to the needs of the elderly in the community, regular health care activities are held. “Recently, we will hold a theme activity for the elderly in combination with national eye care day to help the elderly learn more about eye care.”

  The reporter noticed that a special library was set up in the elderly and Children’s House in the community. The books were arranged according to the reading characteristics of children, parents and the elderly. At the same time, in view of the fact that there are more and more difficult problems in parent-child education, a special psychological consulting room is set up to regularly invite child psychology experts to provide parenting consulting services for parents, so as to help parents solve the problems encountered in family education.
