On 10th June, the oil painting exhibition named “the Ancient Road in the West Wind·Savouring Aesthetic Images with Peaceful Mind” was unveiled. Almost 100 small oil paintings of 12 young painters born in Gansu Province were exhibited in the Lanzhou Jinluotuo Art Gallery.

At 10 o’clock in the morning, the oil painting exhibition was formally unveiled with the playing of a piece of melodic Guzheng music. The journalist saw thatapproximately 100 oil paintings, including August, Beautiful Northern Mountain, Memories of Elaeagnus Angustifolia and Deep Alley, were hung in the exhibition hall, attracting lots of painters and citizens to appreciate them. “I feel overwhelmed by today’s painting exhibition. The oil paintings not only present northwestern folk custom, but also let me come up with the magnificent scene of “a painter drawing paintings while enjoying wine beside a lake with a sword in his hand”. Hope that related departments can organize more similar exhibitions, in order that painting enthusiasts can learn from excellent artistic skills and profound creative expressions,”  a visitor reported.

It was said that this oil painting exhibition would last 10 days. The works, which are mostly about winter snow on Longshan Mountain, urban landscapes, Dunhuang cultures and landscapes of ethnic areas, reflect people’s outlooks in a new era. This event aims to facilitate work and production resumption, promote artistic exchanges, create “art exhibition centers” for citizens near their homes, and build platforms for local outstanding artists to exhibit.
