As our reporter learned from a relevant department on January 27th, Gansu Province will, by capitalizing on its location advantage in connecting the west and east and the north and south, participate in the co-development of the Belt and Road in greater depth. Through further, continuous opening to the outside, it seeks to form a new opening-up landscape where inside and outside are considered, land and sea routes are interlinked, westward expansion is prioritized, and development in other direction is concerted. By doing so, it will create a “Hexi Corridor” in this new age. In 2021, Gansu will create Lushui Bay National Tourism Resort in Zhangye, apply to relevant authorities for setting up Bronze Galloping Horse Cultural Tourism AAAAA Scenic Area in Wuwei in order to promote the development of the Greater Dunhuang Cultural Tourism Economic Circle and so forth. With cultural tourism as a link, such efforts aim to promote exchanges and cooperation between the province and the countries along the Belt & Road.
