Over the past decade, Lanzhou has continuously improved its medical and health infrastructure to create better conditions for patients.
On May 12, the Gansu Provincial Central Hospital was put into trial operation. This is the largest construction in the medical and health field across the province. Up to the standard of a third-class general hospital, it is home to 149 clinical medical technology departments and 3,000 beds.
In the hospital, the transmission system, integrating intelligent pneumatic logistics and box-type robots, can deliver the required medicines, equipment and food within a few minutes.
Hybrid operating rooms can combine magnetic resonance, CT and angiography through the intelligent digital precision control of the CT track, so that patients can save time for diagnosis and surgery without leaving the room.
There are also a number of newly-built projects in Lanzhou, which are expected to inject momentum into the local health and wellness cause.
In September 2020, the new medical business complex building of the First People's Hospital of Lanzhou was put into use. The building has 20 floors above ground and 2 underground, with a total investment of 380 million yuan.
After 10 years of construction, the new outpatient complex building of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University opened its doors on Dec 27, 2020. The upgrading project has helped to increase the number of beds, outpatient clinics and operating rooms. An Emergency ICU, precision medicine center, and trauma center have also been added to the hospital.
The first-phase of the Lanzhou New Area Branch of the Gansu Provincial Hospital completed construction on July 30, last year. It is divided into two parts: the medical area and rehabilitation area.
On June 14, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Gansu Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University Affiliated Cancer Hospital was held in the Lanzhou High-tech Zone. Accordingly, the hospital will allow cancer patients to enjoy domestic first-class medical resources without leaving the province.
