Spring flowers are getting close to peak bloom, attracting hordes of tourists who troop to Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, to marvel at the springtime.

The following are several popular flower-viewing spots in the city.

Jincheng Park in Xigu district, Lanzhou

Flower varieties: magnolia, forsythia

Features: Vibrant jade-like white flowers stand on upright magnolias trees, which are particularly eye-catching among the green scenery.

Ways for fun: walking, mountain-climbing

Renshou Mountain Scenic Area in Anning district, Lanzhou

Flower varieties: The area boasts about 240,000 plants of more than 40 species, including peach, jujube, pear, cedar, cherry, ginkgo, magnolia and metasequoia.

Features: Over 5,000 broom peaches are in full bloom at the entrance of the scenic spot. Bees gathering honey adds to the liveliness of the scene.

Zhongbang Avenue, Lanzhou

Flower varieties: forsythia, flowering plum

Features: Yellow forsythia flowers dot the green belts. The bright color gives people joy as they drive on the road.

Ways for fun: It is suitable for viewing from a distance or taking pictures.

South Binhe Road

Flower varieties: jasminum, forsythia, flowering plum

Features: The fragrant jasminum, forsythia and flowering plum flowers wafts in the air along the 20-km Huanghe River Custom Tourist Line.

Ways for fun: strolling, taking pictures

Beibinhe West Road, Lanzhou

Flower varieties: flowering plum, magnolia, forsythia

Features: Pink flowering plum, yellow forsythia, and white magnolia flowers are evenly distributed in a garden at Beibinhe West Road.
