The play takes the fate of an ordinary woman, the wife of a Sogdian merchant, Mi Wei, as an incision, and reproduces a legend of the ancient Silk Road that spans time and space for the audience through the art form of musicals.
On the stage presentation, multimedia technology vividly reproduces desert sandstorms, noisy markets and mysterious caves; The naked-eye 3D effect of the rotating stage is intertwined with the screen projection, creating a visual illusion of the passage of time, realizing the organic integration of technology and traditional aesthetics.
It is understood that "Mi Wei's Dunhuang" pays attention to "leading people with drama and moistening the city with art" in its creation, selects a large number of local actors, and enhances the comprehensive strength of actors through high-intensity training and drama workshops. Under the strict guidance of international directors, the actors presented a soul-shocking artistic feast to the audience with solid singing skills, delicate performances and full emotions, interpreting the inheritance and innovation of Dunhuang culture with contemporary art vocabulary.
