Recently, the staff of Qinwangchuan National Wetland Park in Lanzhou New Area recorded for the first time the activity traces of the grass heron, a national "three haves" protected animal, in routine bird monitoring. This discovery not only enriches the bird list of the wetland park, but also becomes an important evidence of regional ecological restoration achievements. The grass heron is a large wading bird of the heron family of the order Storks, with a body length of about 80 cm, and is distinguished by its slender beak, neck and legs.

Grass herons appear in Qinwangchuan National Wetland Park
The Qinwangchuan National Wetland Park, where the grass heron appeared this time, is the first "national brand" wetland park in Lanzhou, with a total area of 315.77 hectares, and is also an important supply station on the migration route of migratory birds. Birds are the "monitors" of the ecological environment, and the first appearance of grass herons is not only a "stamp recognition" of the effectiveness of ecological restoration of Qinwangchuan Wetland, but also marks a new stage in regional biodiversity conservation.
