The male baby born to the giant panda "Manlan" in Lanzhou Wildlife Park ushered in a full moon on the 19th. A month ago, this giant panda cub was born in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, and is a native of the "Northwest Baby".

"When he was born, the little guy was only the size of an adult's palm, wrapped in soft white fluff, and his ears and eye circles were still shining with pink 'blush', and after a month of careful care from 'dad' and 'nanny', his iconic 'black circles' and 'black vests' on his body have begun to slowly 'color'." An Xiaojuan, a giant panda breeder at Lanzhou Wildlife Park, said that when the little guy moves, he will also kick his little paws and "chirp", like a moving plush ball.

In April 2024, four giant pandas "Jiabao", "Hongxi" and "Manlan" will move into the newly built Lanzhou Wildlife Park Giant Panda Pavilion. After the giant pandas gave birth, the number of giant pandas in Lanzhou Wildlife Park increased to five.

"At present, giant panda cubs live in nursery boxes. We will help the cubs gradually adapt to the environment until they are finally out of the box." An Xiaojuan said that this is also the first time that the giant panda "Manlan" has given birth, and the zoo has set up a professional team for 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring.

According to reports, the giant panda "Manlan" is currently the only female giant panda in Lanzhou Wildlife Park. Since the conception of "Manlan", the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center has given all-round guidance, and the park's conservation team has carefully accompanied them 24 hours a day, providing exclusive rations, and optimizing the living environment.

According to Lanzhou Wildlife Park, "Manlan" is currently recovering well, and the little one has grown from more than 100 grams at birth to more than 1,200 grams now. This cute giant panda cub doesn't have a name yet.

The southeastern part of Gansu Province is the main habitat of wild giant pandas in our country. According to the fourth national giant panda survey, there are 132 wild giant pandas in Gansu. (Reporter Zhang Zhimin Liu Keying)
