Lanzhou China Network, February 25th News - On February 24th, all primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in Lanzhou City fully started their new semester. To effectively ensure campus safety and stability during the spring semester opening period and safeguard the lives and property of teachers and students, Lanzhou Public Security has focused on key aspects such as public security around campuses, traffic, and hard isolation anti-collision measures. They have made careful arrangements and precise efforts, using police as a shield to protect the peace of campuses in the new semester.

Prior to the start of the new academic year, the Lanzhou Public Security Bureau held a special deployment meeting for spring campus security work, clarifying the principles of “assigning personnel, positions, responsibilities, and timelines,” establishing a four-way linkage mechanism involving public security, education, schools, and families, and detailing task lists for various aspects of work while reinforcing safety responsibilities. To address the distinct characteristics of primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and other educational institutions, a “one-school-one-strategy” approach was implemented to optimize prevention and control plans, ensuring that responsibilities are assigned to specific positions, tasks are assigned to individuals, and the entire process is closed loop. To solidify security foundations, comprehensive safety inspections were conducted of campuses and their surroundings, focusing on critical areas such as hard barrier protection against collisions, surveillance systems, and one-button alarm devices. A closed-loop management system was established for inspection, rectification, re-inspection, and clearance. At the same time, schools were urged to strictly implement systems such as closed-off management and entry verification, strengthen security protection and emergency training, and enhance the ability of the campus to defend itself and respond to emergencies. During peak periods for school commutes, the mechanism of peak service and student escort posts was strictly enforced, ensuring that police officers, police vehicles, and police lights could be seen at key locations near the campus. A combination of fixed post guarding and dynamic patrolling, as well as video surveillance, was employed to manage traffic, deter parking violations, clear stalls, resolve conflicts promptly, and establish a “three-in-one” student escort network involving teachers, parents, and volunteers to safeguard student safety during travel.

In addition, the Lanzhou Public Security Bureau, together with market supervision, transportation, culture and tourism and other departments, has carried out comprehensive management around campuses, strictly investigating prominent issues such as unlicensed, unregulated and uninspected food and illegal operating vehicles, regulating business and traffic order, and purifying the environment around campuses.

A responsible person from the Lanzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau stated that in the next step, the Lanzhou Public Security Bureau will carry out themed lectures on legal safety, anti-fraud, and anti-bullying through the "First Lesson of the New Semester". It will enhance teachers' and students' safety awareness through case explanations, interactive drills, and other forms, push safety reminders to guide parents to fulfill their guardianship responsibilities, and form a pattern of collaborative safety protection among families, schools, and society. It will also conduct regular school protection duties, hidden danger investigations, and safety publicity, continuously improve the systems of human, material, and technical prevention, firmly hold the bottom line of campus safety, and make every effort to build a safe and harmonious campus.
