Nowadays, in Lanzhou New Area, the livable scenes that these people look forward to have become a daily routine. With the rise of industrial agglomeration and popularity, Lanzhou New Area is taking the initiative to upgrade public services, making schools, hospitals, and parks the "core engine" leading the growth of the city, and also allowing every new citizen to understand the development code of the new city.
The "accurate prediction" of education: degrees chase the industry
At 7:40 a.m., Li Xiaoying, who lives in the West District of Ruiling County, dropped off her child to Ruiling Mingjun School (South Campus) in Lanzhou New District less than 10 minutes on foot. "In the past, the good school in my hometown was far away, and pick-up and drop-off was a problem, but now the school is at the doorstep, the equipment is new, the teachers are good, and the children can participate in many activities, which is the biggest reason for us to stay." As a builder who settled in with Lanshi Group in 2015, her emotion expressed the voices of many new citizens. This nine-year consistent school is located in the integration zone of industrial parks such as equipment manufacturing and big data, and has entered the track of standardized and high-quality development in just a few years since its establishment.
Li Zhiyuan, the temporary main person in charge of the school's party organization, said that the proportion of migrant children in school has reached 25.39%, an increase of 67.20% compared with three years ago. In the face of the surge in enrollment demand, the school is equipped with 30 teachers to respond to the expectations of the masses with high-quality resources. "Degree construction must be ahead of demand and simultaneously laid out at the beginning of the industry." Rao Likun, deputy director of the Education and Health Committee of Lanzhou New District, said that the new district is equipped with a kindergarten for every 3,000 people according to the plan, with a service radius of no more than 300 meters, and primary and secondary schools are planned simultaneously with urban expansion and community construction.

Yang Chunling introduced that in the past three years, the health literacy level of residents in the jurisdiction has increased by 10 percentage points, the health record management rate has jumped from 74% to 92%, and the satisfaction of the masses has reached 97%.
As the main force in the construction of the medical community in the new area, the First People's Hospital of Lanzhou New Area has improved the level of diagnosis and treatment through "linkage between the upper and lower levels, internal and external borrowing". The hospital became a member of the medical consortium of Shanghai Oriental Hospital, and also jointly built a postdoctoral workstation with Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University. Since December 2025, Shanghai Oriental Hospital has regularly dispatched experts to the new area every month for consultation and surgery, and has successfully completed 36 coronary interventional surgeries, so that patients with difficult and critical illnesses can enjoy high-quality diagnosis and treatment services at their doorstep. According to Hu Haijiang, deputy director of the Education and Health Committee of Lanzhou New Area, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the new area put into operation 9 medical and health institutions based on industrial distribution and population agglomeration; Through the construction of the medical community, 139 secondary diseases and 285 secondary drugs have sunk to the grassroots level, 1,121 kinds of drugs can be used at the grassroots level, the proportion of third- and fourth-level surgeries in leading hospitals has increased to 36.6%, the first diagnosis rate at the grassroots level has reached 60%, and the county treatment rate has reached 76%, saving more than 3 million yuan for patients every year, and the average cost of hospitalization has decreased by 18%.
The "functional butterfly change" of the park: from "green space" to "life scene"

Ma Hongpeng, who was introduced into the new area in 2019 as an urgently needed talent, is now the quality director of Lanzhou Heshengtang Pharmaceutical, and in his spare time, Qixia Lake and the surrounding sports park are his frequent places. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Lanzhou New Area built and upgraded 10 parks and "pocket parks" such as Baihua Park and Lingang Flower Sea, adding more than 940,000 square meters of green area.
