China Lanzhou Network News on April 15th - On the occasion of the National Security Education Day, on the afternoon of April 15th, national security authorities at the provincial, municipal and district levels carried out a joint national security education and publicity campaign at Dongfanghong Square in Lanzhou City.

At the event venue, staff from various departments acted as safety promoters, distributing promotional brochures and science popularization pamphlets to passersby. The materials covered a range of topics, including the National Security Law, the Cybersecurity Law, counter-sabotage and counter-espionage efforts, anti-fraud and anti-deception measures, and ecological security. Using simple language and relatable examples, they explained complex legal provisions and safety knowledge. At the information booths, knowledge panels, and interactive Q&A areas set up at the venue, many people stopped to watch and listen carefully. The staff patiently answered questions about safety concerns that interested them, explaining the close connection between national security and everyday life in terms that were easy to understand. “I used to think that national security was far removed from my life. But through this event, I realized that online speech, daily travel, and personal data protection are all connected to national security,” said Cao Ying, a student from Lanzhou City University.

It is worth mentioning that at this year's promotional event, a themed exhibition titled "Intangible Cultural Heritage Integrated with National Security, Jincheng Safeguarding Peace" and an exhibition of outstanding paintings and calligraphy works on national security publicity and education were also set up on site. These have organically integrated traditional culture with national security publicity and education, attracting numerous citizens to stop, watch and interact. Meanwhile, a sub-venue was established at Lanzhou National Security Theme Park, and all counties and districts carried out promotional activities simultaneously, working in coordination with the main venue to form a publicity and education pattern featuring full coverage and nationwide participation.

Since the beginning of the year, Lanzhou City has focused on the “1+N+2+X” education and publicity activity system, fully leveraging the advantages of a full-media matrix, innovatively creating a new three-dimensional publicity model featuring “monthly thematic progression + comprehensive publicity coordination.” It has also deepened the promotion of national security education through activities such as “Eight Entries + One,” “National Security Education in Schools,” and “I’ll Talk About National Security.” Relying on the city’s public viewing platform, short videos, slogans, and public service advertisements promoting national security have been frequently broadcast in crowded areas such as stations, subways, and commercial districts, aiming to create a strong atmosphere of “every day being National Security Education Day” in a format that is appealing to the public. This effort seeks to instill the concept that “national security is everyone’s responsibility” in people’s minds, driving the transition of national security education from concentrated campaigns on April 15 to “normalized and precise dissemination,” and from “broadcasting like a deluge” to “precision irrigation.”

Next, Lanzhou will continue to deepen its publicity and education on national security, constantly innovate forms, expand carriers, enrich content, gather the strong joint force of the whole society in safeguarding national security, and strive to build a solid security barrier for the high-quality economic and social development of the city.
