May 12 this year is the 18th National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day, with the theme of "Everyone Talks about Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency - Improving Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief Capabilities". The Lanzhou National Land Search and Rescue Base, located in Majia Temple, Lianda Township, Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, has become a disaster prevention and reduction classroom that can be touched, screamed, and experienced. Students from Feitian Primary School, Yangfan Primary School, and Changfeng Primary School walked into the search and rescue base and felt the speed and power of the "earthquake rescue special forces" at zero distance.
At 10 a.m., the open day kicked off. Hydraulic pliers hold eggs, toothless sawing wires, and horizontal crossing at high altitudes...... These unique skills of the search and rescue personnel caused the children to exclaim again and again.

"Although the steel wire was cut on the light bulb, the wire broke, but the light bulb was intact!"
"Wow! Amazing! I've only seen these on TV! ”
If the wonderful demonstration makes the children enjoyable, then the "slanted building experience" makes everyone feel the vertigo and horror of the earthquake. The inclined training ruins of the base (commonly known as the "inclined building") have an inclination angle of 21 degrees, and the stairs, walls, doors and windows and other facilities in the inclined building are tilted synchronously, creating a real tilting environment.
This is a popular "check-in place", and the children line up and carefully walk into the building under the guidance of the workers. As soon as they entered the door, their bodies involuntarily tilted to one side, some children clung to the handrails, and some supported each other, struggling to simulate their escape in the inclined space.
"It's so dizzy, if the house is tilted like this during the earthquake, I will definitely not be able to stand steadily!" An Xinchen, a student in Class 5 of the fourth grade of Changfeng Primary School in Anning District, Lanzhou City, told reporters after coming out of the sloping building. The staff followed closely with the explanation: "When the building collapses or tilts during an earthquake, we must learn to lower our posture and lean against the wall......" The children nodded while listening, and this "safety lesson" made the children remember it more deeply than any textbook knowledge.

On the other side, the "First Aid Skills Classroom" was full of students who were eager to try. Under the guidance of the staff, the children worked in pairs to practice CPR on the simulator. "001, 002, 003...... "Let's count the number of presses together." Teacher, do you see if I press deep enough? The instructor continued to explain while encouraging: "You did a great job!" We should pay attention to the fact that when performing CPR, the patient should be placed on a hard plane, hands should be folded, palmar roots should be placed at the midpoint of the connection between the two nipples, a compression depth of 5-6 cm, and a frequency of 100-120 times / min......

There were also hidden danger "finding faults" challenge and "safety sign flipping" on the spot. On the display boards of home and campus scenes, there are many hidden dangers such as empty chargers and forgetting to turn off gas valves. The children transformed into "safety detectives" and scrambled to point out the problem. Before the three-dimensional flop device, everyone rushed to answer the meaning of emergency exits, fire extinguishers, evacuation channels and other signs, and the knowledge of disaster prevention and mitigation was "drilled" into the children's minds in this way.
"I learned a lot today!" An Xinchen said, "If we encounter an earthquake at school, we have to put our schoolbags on our heads and hide under the desks." After the shaking stops, evacuate to the playground in an orderly manner, and you must not run around! ”
The relevant person in charge of the Gansu Provincial Earthquake Bureau said that the Lanzhou National Land Search and Rescue Base has always been committed to making disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge "fly into the homes of ordinary people". Through the annual public open day "Please come in", especially let young people master scientific risk avoidance and self-rescue and mutual rescue skills in immersive experience, and truly realize "educating a child, driving a family, and influencing the whole society".
