The land is covered in lush greenery and blooming flowers. As the Lanzhou Marathon draws near, Lanzhou welcomes friends from all over the country with its most beautiful urban scenery. On May 20th, reporters learned from Lanzhou's landscape and gardening authorities that in this spring's greening campaign, the city has completed the upgrading of greening projects along 73 urban roads, newly planted and replaced 1,973 street trees, and planted 7,000 flowering shrubs in road median strips. Major parks and green spaces have also launched vigorous tree-planting activities, with a total of 641,300 seedlings of various kinds planted, and ground cover flowers and lawns laid across an area of 29,200 square meters. Greenery is increasingly prevalent across urban streets, and the living ecological environment keeps improving steadily.

　　Meanwhile, the landscape and greening department has focused on the core tracks of the Lanzhou Marathon, carried out refined supplementary planting and improvement of the green landscapes along the routes, and strived to build an ecological track featuring unique scenery for each section and beautiful views everywhere. Up to now, 180 street trees have been planted along the marathon tracks, and the supplementary greening work in parks and green spaces alongside the routes has been completed simultaneously, including 156,400 hedges, 82 arbors and 3,679 flowering shrubs in green areas. In addition, new ground cover flower landscapes covering an area of 23,423 square meters have been created. Well-arranged arbors, multi-layered flowering shrubs and fresh seasonal flowers set off each other, making the marathon tracks full of lush greenery and pleasant scenery.
