The summary of the "Lanzhou City 2025 Ecological Environment Status Bulletin" states:

  Atmospheric environment continues to optimize

By 2025, the number of days the city met ambient air quality standards for 312 days, with 85.5% of days being good.

The water environment is safe and stable

The water quality compliance rate for national and provincial control sections in the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River is 100%, and the water quality compliance rate for urban centralized drinking water sources is 100%.

Solid soil management has been implemented

The city's safe utilization rate of polluted arable land remained stable at 100%, key construction land was effectively safeguarded, and no soil pollution-related safety accidents occurred.

On June 3rd, the Municipal Government Information Office held a press conference, where the Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment released the "Lanzhou 2025 Ecological Environment Status Bulletin" (summary). The bulletin shows that by 2025, our city will achieve outstanding results in governance in six major areas: air, water, soil, noise, solid waste, and ecological environment, with steady improvement in ecological environment quality.

Atmospheric environment continues to optimize. In 2025, the number of days the city met ambient air quality standards was 312, with 85.5% of days being good; after excluding the impact of abnormal sandstorm weather, 94% of the days were good, up 10.7% year-on-year; The comprehensive ambient air quality index was 4.24, an improvement of 6.4% year-on-year, with all six atmospheric pollutant concentrations declining year-on-year. Among all pollution weather events of youth and above, PM10 was the primary pollutant for 33 days, accounting for 62.3%, PM2.5 and O_3 each for 10 days, each accounting for 18.9%. There were no pollution events with CO, NO_2, or SO_2 as primary pollutants. There were 46 sandstorm weather events in urban areas throughout the year, an increase of 17 compared to the previous year, 97 affected days, an increase of 34 days year-on-year; 33 days of dust caused air quality exceeding standards, an increase of 10 days year-on-year.

The water environment is safe and stable. The water quality compliance rate for national and provincial control sections in the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River is 100%, and the water quality compliance rate for urban centralized drinking water sources is 100%. The cross-sections of the main streams of the Yellow River at Fuhe Bridge, Xincheng Bridge, Baolan Bridge, Shichuan Bridge, and Qingcheng Bridge are all classified as Class II superior water; The cross-section of the Huangshui River Bridge is better than Class III; the cross-sections of Zhuanglang River at Jiepai Village and Shangshiquan are all classified as Class II. The total urban drinking water source intake in the city was 254.94 million tons, with an annual standard water supply of 254.94 million tons.

Solid soil management has been implemented. The city's safe utilization rate of polluted arable land remained stable at 100%, key construction land was effectively safeguarded, and no soil pollution-related safety accidents occurred.

The acoustic environment quality is relatively good. The average equivalent sound level of daytime regional environmental noise in the city is 53.8 dB(A), with an evaluation level of Level 2; Noise sources from domestic sources account for 85.3%, traffic 8.2%, industry 5.2%, and construction 1.3%. The average daytime traffic noise on urban roads was 66.4 dB(A), rated as Level 1. Among 120 monitoring points≤ 107 had 70 dB(A) levels, accounting for 89.2%. The noise compliance rate in functional zones was 94.7% during the day and 94.0% at night.

Solid waste disposal is fully harmless and complete. Annual industrial solid waste was 4.8904 million tons, agricultural solid waste 3.2625 million tons, and construction waste 1.5478 million tons; household waste collection and transportation reached 1.4946 million tons, with a 100% harmless treatment rate; 226,200 tons of hazardous waste (including 5,700 tons of medical waste), with a 100% harmless disposal rate.

Ecological protection is improving quality and efficiency. Including 3.9454 million mu of arable land in Lanzhou New District, excluding the approved permanent basic farmland of 2.9733 million mu in the new area, with 2.9733 million mu actually allocated. Currently, there are 4 terrestrial wild vertebrate species in 4 classes, 28 orders, 88 families, and 435 species, as well as 89 nationally protected wild animals (17 first-class, 72 second-class); There are 8 nature reserves, accounting for 6.31% of the area. In 2025, the city's average temperature will be 6.9~11.4°C, 0.5~0.7°C higher than usual; precipitation will be 285.7~486.0 mm, with 1~40% higher in other areas except Yongdeng, which is average. The overall climate assessment for the year is average.

Additionally, it was introduced that focusing on "Comprehensive Green Transformation, Building a Beautiful China Together" to showcase ecological construction achievements, on June 5th, the main event of our city's Environment Day was held at the Yuzhong County Fitness Square.
