On June 22, the "Silk Road IP Opportunities China" international online communication event, hosted by the Gansu Provincial Cyberspace Administration and organized by the Lanzhou Municipal Cyberspace Administration and multiple departments, was officially launched in Lanzhou. Several international experience officers gathered in Lanzhou, a key city along the Silk Road, to observe the Jincheng landscape from an overseas perspective and tell Lanzhou's stories, showcasing Lanzhou's urban charm and Silk Road development opportunities in the new era to the world in a comprehensive and multidimensional manner. After the launch ceremony, international experience officers visited Lanzhou Heavy Ion Center, Lanzhou Petrochemical, Gansu Chengxin Electric Power Technology Co., Ltd., and Lanzhou Beef Noodle Museum, visiting firsthand scientific achievements, industrial heritage, and intangible cultural heritage, immersing themselves in the vivid practice of Lanzhou's high-quality development.
At the first stop of this visit, the international experience officer visited the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Therapy Center to closely observe the domestically produced carbon ion therapy system with completely independent intellectual property rights. Everyone visited the treatment hall, central control room, and expert workstation, experiencing firsthand the robust technological strength of China's high-end medical "major national equipment." As one of the few global dual-ion clinical application platforms, the center brings together top oncology diagnosis and treatment experts nationwide, relying on its independent core technology to build a highland for precision medicine in Northwest China. It is not only a shining card for Lanzhou's sci-tech innovation industry opening up to the outside world, but also allows overseas guests to truly experience the fruitful achievements of China's cutting-edge technology empowering people's livelihoods and benefiting the public.
In the production and R&D workshop of Gansu Chengxin Electric Power Technology Co., Ltd., the International Experience Officer focused on observing the company's core flagship product—the world's first self-powered electric tensioner. This equipment breaks through traditional fuel-driven modes, achieving zero emissions and low noise operation through energy storage batteries. It is highly adapted to complex power grid construction environments such as the mountainous northwest and Gobi deserts. It is currently widely used in key 750kV ultra-high voltage projects within the province, effectively reducing carbon emissions and labor costs during mountainous construction, and minimizing ecological disturbance. Relying on this fully electric intelligent construction system, the company has developed standardized green construction solutions that can be exported to countries along the Silk Road such as Central Asia and West Asia, creating a distinctive Silk Road innovation industry IP. On site, overseas bloggers personally operated the intelligent centralized control operating system, frequently praising the outstanding advantages of lightweight, intelligent, and green equipment. Everyone also stopped to view the large domestic drone equipment, taking photos and checking in, full of enthusiasm.
At the Lanzhou Petrochemical Petroleum Spirit Education Base, precious physical historical materials, yellowed historical photos, and restored production scenes vividly recreate the company's early years of rooting in the Gobi and striving hard in the Gobi during its early days. The guide explained in detail that during the "First Five-Year Plan" period, a large number of builders responded to the national call by relocating west to Lanzhou, reclaiming wasteland and Gobi to build factories and tackling tough enterprises. They successfully developed the first batch of aviation gasoline and synthetic rubber, breaking foreign technological monopolies and vividly embodying the precious petroleum spirit of "hard work and practical work, the three elders and four stricts." From old, simple production tools to independently developed high-end new materials and aerospace supporting products, the stark contrast clearly demonstrates Lanzhou Petrochemical's leapfrog development journey from ensuring basic production to achieving technological self-reliance and strength. Experience officers from various countries listened attentively and took detailed notes, deeply understanding the original mission of generations of petrochemical workers rooted in the Northwest and serving the country through industry. Afterwards, the group visited the Lanzhou Petrochemical Green Water Treatment Center to learn firsthand about the entire process of industrial wastewater resource utilization, witnessing firsthand how advanced technology has built a solid barrier for ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin.
The Lanzhou beef noodle cultural experience was the most vibrant and distinctive part of the event. Under the hands-on guidance of intangible cultural heritage chefs, the international experience officers diligently learned the noodle techniques, from kneading and rolling noodles to pulling noodles, mastering the key points step by step. Although the process seems simple, it actually demands extremely high strength, speed, and technique. Even a slight deviation can cause uneven noodles to be thick and easily break. The trial officers patiently explored and repeatedly tried to successfully complete the noodle operation, immersing themselves in the unique charm of Lanzhou beef noodles, a national-level intangible cultural heritage craft. At the end of the event, the international experience officers arrived at Zhongshan Bridge, interacting warmly with citizens and singing "My Motherland and I" together, capturing beautiful moments with sincere songs and preserving the warm voice of China in the golden city of Lanzhou.
It is understood that this series of online international communication activities will continue to be carried out. Next, the international experience officer team will start from Lanzhou and conduct in-depth explorations along the Hexi Corridor to explore the ancient city scenery of the Silk Road, new energy industry bases, and characteristic agricultural and animal husbandry clusters, continuously tapping into the cultural IP value and potential for economic and trade cooperation in cities along the Silk Road. The team will vividly tell the story of the new era of the Silk Road through an international and youthful narrative approach, promote cultural exchange and mutual learning along the Silk Road, and bring the vibrant vitality and open opportunities of western China to the world.
